Traveler’s food

My dad and I spent most of the day in the air or at Schipol airport and arrived in Vienna at night. So I don’t know what the plant is today. Blue KLM vehicles are not plants, hardly are the things we ate along the way. I am devouring, fiercely underlining, Michael Pollan’s new book, The Omnivore’s Delight. So corn could be the plant today, it’s the one most on my mind. Unfortunately it has already been. Though it was not the corn of modified starch, HFCS, malodextrin, or any other mystery product of industrial agriculture. The corn I featured was on the cob, wrapped in its husk, from the farmer’s market, grown nearby. Corn as vegetable.

What do travelers eat? When I go by plane I like homemade banana chocolate chip muffins, chips ahoy cookies, goldfish crackers and water. And apples.
