Prunus sp.
Plumcherry
ROSACEAE, The Rose family
I visited Jeannie tonight, and she showed me two little Plumcherry trees she just got. We looked at her apple orchard and raspberry patch. She gave me the cutest little sedum in a clay pot.
‘Opata’ and ‘Sapalta’ are two hardy plum-cherry hybrids, developed in South Dakota and Canada, respectively. ‘Opata’ has purple skin and green flesh. ‘Sapalta’ had reddish-purple skin and very dark flesh. Both are small and ripen late in the season.
